Parental interest and encouragement is essential for a child’s success. We expect children to take books home to read to parents. We hope that in promoting daily sessions of reading for pleasure at home as well as in school, we can jointly foster a life-long enjoyment of the printed word.
The children will bring home a reading diary showing what targets have been set for your child and how well they are doing. Ideally we like the children to read at home 4 times a week. Individually tailored targets are also set in other subjects. Maths, spelling and other homework is also sent home. The type and amount depends on the age and stage of development of the child.
